Robin Maddock
Exhibition 1
Robin Maddocks examines the state of the United Kingdom in the EU and focuses on the uncertainty and reflects on the ongoing refugee crisis. He accomplishes exploiting the poverty caused from the current state of Brexit through raw images of the poverty in Britain.
This is my favoured gallery that we visited as these images expressed pure rawness of life and the ugliness of it. It showed a more realist view of the world and an insight so personal life. The theme of New Europe is shown through explicit photos of poverty and riots. It shows more of an insight of how New Europe has effected individuals financially.

CYANOTYPES
we cyanotypes by placing images printed on clear paper onto the blue developer paper, leaving it for about 10 minutes for the sun to react with the paper, creating blue shadows. we then washed the developer off of the blue paper in the sea. This process was discovered by John Herschel, an astronomer, who used this method as a way of copying his notes. Herschel managed to fix pictures using hyposulphite of soda as early as 1839. In the early days the paper was coated with iron salts and then used in contact printing. The paper was then washed in water and resulted in a white image on a deep blue background.
